The 20 players who will race off for the honour of being the first ever Formula 1 eSports Series champion have been decided.
Following a month-long qualifying process, 40 of the world’s best F1 2017 players assembled at the Gfinity Arena in London to race for a place in the grand final, which takes place in Abu Dhabi as part of the build-up to the Formula 1 season finale.
A series of qualifying races determined the seedings for the eight heats, with the 40 racers broken down into four groups of 10.

The Project CARS esports season built to a thrilling climax at Gamescom, as we crowned the 2017 World Final winners. The battle took place on the massive ESL Arena stage in front of a packed crowd and thousands watching online on Facebook and Twitch.
The past couple of weeks has seen 2 big names in motorsport, F1 and Supercars, announce new eSports tournaments launching in September 2017.
F1 2017 will see players compete for the fastest Monza lap then enter qualifiers where the 40 best drivers will go head-to-head in the semi-final, which will take place in London’s Gfinity esports arena and will be broadcast live. Then 20 places are up for grabs in the official Formula 1® Esports Series Grand Final.

Supercars has partnered with Forza for a Bathurst showdown.
Players will compete online through Forza Motorsport 6’s RIVALS mode, where the fastest eight drivers set by lap time will win an expenses-paid trip to compete in the Challenge Finals, held at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
Here at the Challenge Finals, they will compete in the brand-new Forza Motorsport 7 over four action-packed days to see who will be the first ever Harvey Norman Supercars Forza Challenge Champion. The challenge finals will not only see the drivers race head-to-head, but also in a special All-Stars race paired up with a current Virgin Australia Supercars Championship driver.
